UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs has published data on the number of victims of the events that take place in the east of Ukraine. Total death toll was 5,793 people.

This was reported in the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.

“Since the beginning of the conflict in eastern Ukraine in mid-April 2014 to February 19, were killed at least 5793 people (including 63 children) and 14,595 (including 169 children) were injured,” – the document says.

Reportedly, the statistics include data about the dead Ukrainian soldiers received from Kiev, 298 died on board the aircraft Malaysian airlines and information about the victims to hospital Donetsk and Lugansk regions. In this case, the UN believes that the real death toll is much higher.

As of February 7, according to the president of Ukraine Poroshenko, since April 2014 as a result of military operations in eastern Ukraine, killing 5638 people.
