Ukrainian troops complete withdrawal of heavy weapons in ATO area

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has announced about the completion of heavy weapons’ withdrawal in ATO area in accordance with the Minsk agreements.

“Almost all the heavy weapons of 100-mm caliber, namely “2A29″ MT-12 (“Rapier”) and MT-12P (“Ruta”) have been withdrawn from the line defined by the Minsk agreements,” – says the statement on the website of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Ukrainian military claim that the Ukrainian side strictly adheres to these requirements and seamlessly allows observers to locations allotted to heavy weapons “which cannot be agreed with the militants.”

“Unfortunately, the Russian-terrorist forces continue to concentrate forces and resources in some areas and directions in the Donbas conflict zone, greatly enhancing their basic tactical groups. They fire the Ukrainian troops’ positions as well as perform tactical attacks,” – says the statement.

The General Staff reiterated that “if the terrorists do not fulfill the requirements of the peace plan, heavy weapons will be returned to the position in a record period of time.”
